“I played the game one way. I gave it everything I had. It doesn't take any ability to hustle.” - Wade Boggs
Introduction:
Even if you’re earning top dollar in your day job, you may still want to think about getting a side hustle. Think about a passion project or hobby alongside your day job — it could be from freelance writing to selling handmade crafts online. This extra source of income, lets you explore your interest while boosting your earnings.
It can be exhausting at times, but keep hustling! Let me remind you again why your side hustle is good for your with these simple reasons I always use to motivate myself, too.
Here are 6 reasons why having a side hustle is good for you:
When you’ve got extra cash flow coming in, then you basically have more disposable income. This means you can use the money to buy your wants and not just your needs.
You can go on vacations and do fun things with the family! You can buy the latest gadgets if you like.
Of course, do all these fun stuff in moderation. You don’t want to get used to a more expensive lifestyle if your side hustle income isn’t even all that stable yet.
If you work a relatively boring and routine job with specific requirements or limitation, then you may not have much room for creativity.
A side hustle you’re passionate about will help you get the creative release you so desire. You can explore new ideas, experiment with different approaches, and push your creative boundaries without being held back.
This means that when you work on your day job, you should generally feel good most of the time!
Keeping all your eggs in one basket isn’t a good plan. When it comes to finances and income streams, diversity is key. If we have another pandemic like we had in April 2020 (and I hope it doesn't), then you won’t be worried about for or other means of earning money!
Because no matter how much we avoid unfortunate events, thing happened beyond our control, and it's always best to be prepared no matter what. Your side hustle is your safety net during uncertain times.
If you’ve accrued some debt and loans, then you’ll find it hard to pay off all these if you just depend on your salary. This is especially true if you live paycheck to paycheck and have no savings.
If you have a profitable side hustle, you can use the additional cash flow to pay off your debts and loans.
While your main job may cover regular expenses, unexpected emergencies like car repairs, medical bills, or home repairs can rise at any time. And emergencies like that don’t exactly announce themselves. They just happen.
When they do, then you better be prepared.
If you don’t have an emergency fund, then you could wipe out your entire savings, and you’d fall into even more debt!
There are tons of benefits to meeting new people. You not only widen your horizons, but you also have plenty of opportunities to get referrals from people in your network.
You’ll get a new perspective on things, and there’s always the opportunity to learn something new from your new friends!
I understand that balancing a side hustle or business while working full-time can be tough and draining. But, believe me, the rewards and fulfillment that come with it are worth the effort at the end.
